Our very own, Sister Diana Dolce, was featured on WHAM Channel 13 News last night to speak about our school closing yesterday (Tuesday, February 7th) due to the high number of illnesses among faculty, staff, and students. On Monday, February 6th, nearly 25% of our students were either out sick or in the nurse’s office with flu, sinus, and/or respiratory infection symptoms. 17 of our teachers were also either home sick or trying to power through the day with fevers, stuffy noses, and sore throats. This is the first time since the school opened in 1994 that Sister Diana has had to cancel school due to illness. Sister Diana hoped that cancelling school for a day would allow teachers and students to make Doctor’s appointments, rest, and to prevent further contamination of the school. Before dismissal on Monday, Sister instructed all teachers and students to wipe down commonly used surfaces and objects with disinfectant wipes.
